Something a little bit interesting

The article that was released from the Government of Canada yesterday is interesting. The forensic audit began in March 2007; the audit was for the years 2003 to 2005; the total amount received was just under 6.5 million dollars for the three year period and the funding came from just one government department.

The Metis National Council is apparently being forensic audited by the Government departments - Office of the Federal Interlocutor and Health Canada. The government has not engaged an outside auditing firm to complete the audit - they are doing it internal to the departments.

Will they release the findings of their audit and make it public like they did with the Public Safety Department? Will the audit findings be in a complete comprehnsive report identifying the narrative explanation of each agreement? Will it outline all short comings even with the sub contracted resources like Metco Ventures Inc?

Just some thoughts .....
